University is not a perfect church, but it is a loving church. We are so grateful you have decided to join our church. Please fill out the form below and Pastor Smith will get back to you shortly with the next steps.
Once you have received the gift of salvation from God through Jesus Christ, it is important to commit yourself to membership in a local church.
There are many reasons for this. The benefits of membership are:
It identifies a person as a genuine believer Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, (Ephesians 2:19 NIV) So it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. ; Romans 12:5 NLT)
It provides a spiritual family to support and encourage you in your walk with Christ. Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. (Gal. 6:1-2 NLT) And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching (Hebrew. 10: 24-25)
It gives you a place to discover and use your gifts in ministry (1 Cor. 12: 4-27) There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. 5 There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. 6 God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other (1 Corin. 12: 4-7)
It places you under the spiritual protection of Godly leaders Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit. (Heb. 13:17) So guard yourselves and God’s people. Feed and shepherd God’s flock—his church, purchased with his own blood—over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as elders. I know that false teachers, like vicious wolves, will come in among you after I leave, not sparing the flock. (Acts 20:28-29) 5.
It gives you the accountability that you need to grow Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. (Eph. 5:21) The purposes of the church were designed by God to give you benefits you cannot achieve elsewhere.
